THREE OLATHE SENIORS SCORE A PERFECT 36 ON ACT — AN ACHIEVEMENT AT THE TOP OF NATIONAL RANKINGS
Two students from Olathe Northwest and one from Olathe North earn the highest possible score on the college entrance exam.
OLATHE, Kan. — Three Olathe high school seniors have achieved one of the highest academic distinctions available to college-bound students, earning perfect composite scores of 36 on the ACT.
Olathe Public Schools announced the accomplishments Thursday, Oct. 8, recognizing three members of the Class of 2027.
The students are:
🎓 Keaden Yim — Olathe Northwest High School
🎓 Santosh Subramanian — Olathe Northwest High School
🎓 Anjali Krishnakumar — Olathe North High School
A composite score of 36 is the highest possible on the ACT, a standardized exam used by colleges and universities to evaluate academic readiness.
According to ACT’s national ranking data for 2026-27, a perfect 36 falls in the 100th percentile among test takers.
For comparison, the national average ACT composite score for the graduating Class of 2025 was 19.4, according to ACT’s annual report.
The achievement is especially notable at Olathe Northwest, where two members of the same graduating class earned perfect scores.
OLATHE NORTHWEST STUDENT ALSO EXCELS IN DEBATE
One of the students, Santosh Subramanian, has also earned recognition in competitive debate.
During the 2025-26 school year, Subramanian and teammate Luke Boeshart finished fourth in the Kansas Class 6A State Two-Speaker Debate Tournament.
Their performance was among several accomplishments contributing to another major recognition for Olathe Northwest.
NORTHWEST EARNS FIRST STATE PERFORMING ARTS EXCELLENCE AWARD
Olathe Northwest was also named the 2026-27 Performing Arts School of Excellence by the Kansas State High School Activities Association.
It is the first time the school has received the award, following earlier commendations in 2022 and 2025.
Among the school’s accomplishments, Elsie Cordell captured the Class 6A state speech championship in dramatic interpretation. Northwest also recorded five additional top-six finishes at the state speech tournament and placed sixth overall as a team.
The school was among 23 Kansas high schools recognized for outstanding performing arts programs.
The district included the perfect ACT scores and performing arts recognition in its September 2026 awards report, published Oct. 8.
For Yim, Subramanian and Krishnakumar, earning the highest possible ACT score marks an exceptional accomplishment as they prepare to graduate next spring.
Their achievements also provide an opportunity to recognize the academic talent found in Olathe’s public high schools.
Congratulations to all three seniors! 🎓
