OLATHE, Kan. — There’s a new place to spend an evening in downtown Olathe, but you won’t find it at street level.
The Office Lounge, located at 110 S. Cherry St., officially opened Wednesday, Oct. 21, bringing a new cocktail and entertainment destination to the city’s historic downtown.
The basement-level establishment is tucked inside an existing office building near Cherry and Park streets. A long staircase leads visitors down to a space that looks quite different from the offices above.
Inside, a large illuminated bar serves as the centerpiece, surrounded by upholstered bar stools, decorative mirrors and warm lighting. Beyond the bar, separate seating areas feature couches, lounge chairs and small tables designed for groups to gather and talk.
Dark walls, patterned flooring and soft table lamps give the space a distinctive atmosphere.
Olathe Today visited the newly opened lounge to capture a video tour, showing the bar, seating areas and customers enjoying an evening out.
A NEW CHAPTER FOR A FAMILIAR OLATHE RESTAURATEUR
The Office Lounge is the creation of Brandon Blum and business partner Chris Scrivo.
Blum previously spent more than 30 years helping operate Austin’s Bar & Grill, a longtime Olathe restaurant and sports bar.
The new venture takes a different approach, focusing on craft cocktails and a more intimate lounge setting rather than a traditional sports bar experience.
The owners have also discussed plans to feature live music, including acoustic performances, jazz, blues and other styles.
The opening adds another nightlife option to downtown Olathe, where several new restaurants and entertainment businesses have been helping reshape the area.
For residents curious about what’s happening beneath Cherry Street, Olathe Today’s video offers a look inside one of downtown’s newest establishments.
The Office Lounge is located at 110 S. Cherry St., Unit A, in downtown Olathe.
